Title: Create Your Own Music Album Cover

Description: Welcome to the "Create Your Own Album Cover Art Challenge!". Are you a creative soul with a passion for music and design? This challenge is tailor-made for you!

​

Challenge Objective: Your main goal is to style a vinyl, CD, or cassette cover for your very own fictional musical band's album. Let your imagination run wild as you craft a visually stunning representation of your music. Whether you're a graphic designer, illustrator, or just a music enthusiast, this challenge is your opportunity to showcase your artistic talents.

Rules and Guidelines:

  1. Album Theme: Select a theme for your album. It could be anything from rock and roll to electronic, classical, hip-hop, or even an entirely new genre you've invented.

  2. Create or Customize: You can either create your own physical album cover or use existing boxes and packages as a canvas. This choice is entirely up to you. Styling and coloring plates and CDs are optional and won't be judged, but they are encouraged for added creativity.

  3. Artistic Freedom: There are no limits to your creativity. You can use any artistic medium – digital, traditional, mixed media, or even 3D if you prefer. Be sure to focus on the aesthetics, typography, and overall design of your album cover.

  4. Musical Band Name: Invent a unique name for your fictional band. This will be an essential part of your album's identity.

  5. Album Title: Create a compelling title for your album. The title should resonate with the theme and style you've chosen.

  6. ​​Submission: The deadline for this homework is 10.01.2024. You should bring your work at the Aleksandra Čaka iela 58, Latgales priekšpilsēta, Rīga, LV-1011. For foreign participants – you can bring your work at the convention on the 13th of January.

Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

  1. Creativity and Originality: How unique and innovative is your album cover design?

  2. Relevance to Theme: Does your album cover effectively convey the mood and genre of your fictional band's music?

  3. Aesthetic Appeal: Is your design visually captivating? Are the colors, typography, and overall composition well-executed?

  4. Storytelling: Does your album cover tell a story or evoke emotions that resonate with viewers?

  5. Overall Impact: How memorable and impactful is your album cover?

Prizes: While this challenge is primarily for the love of art and creativity, there will be prizes for the top entry! Awards ceremony will take place at WinterCon VIII on 14th January 2024.
