Cosplay, a portmanteau of the words 'costume' and 'play,' is a popular hobby where fans dress up as their favorite characters from various media, such as comics, films, anime, manga, and video games. But it's more than just wearing a costume - it's about immersing yourself in a character, bringing a piece of a fantastical world into reality.

Cosplay is both fun and challenging, combining several elements like costume design, prop making, acting, and sometimes even special effects makeup. It allows you to express your creativity and craftsmanship while paying homage to the characters and stories you love.

Cosplayers take immense pride in their work, spending hours, sometimes even months, meticulously crafting their costumes to replicate every detail of their chosen character's attire. It's not uncommon for a cosplayer to learn new skills, such as sewing, prop building, or makeup application, all in the name of perfecting their cosplay.

WinterCon VIII  program will consist of up to 5 (five!) hours cosplay contest with wide range of nominations including regional qualifiers for Austrias Tournament of Champions and US based C2E2 Crown Championships; tutorial panels and workshops there anyone can learn basic steps in cosplay making.
