ARTS AT UNICON 2019

We are glad to announce the UniCon 2019 Art Contests!

This year, you will be able to participate in already well known competitions, such as "Cosplay portrait” and "One-hour thematic contest”, which will be held during the event. The winners will be awarded with diplomas and prizes during the Award Ceremony on the second day. We will also hold small 5-30 min contests, where the winners will be awarded on the spot.

Cosplay Portrait.
Time: up to 30 min. The idea is to portray the character that is being cosplayed by an assigned person. The details of the outfit and the overall portrayal of the character must be emphasized in the finished work.

One-hour thematic contest.
The theme of the contest will not be revealed until the beginning. Any kind of drawing on the given theme is allowed. The completeness on the drawing plays a huge role in evaluation.

Of course, as always we'll have a "homework" contests.
This year the topic of our festival is "super heroes" so we would like you to draw our amazing mascot as a super hero. It can be any kind of hero from TV, comics, anime or even cartoons.

And we have another homework contest for you! “The Best Paperchild Contest” Paperchild – it is an original or already existing character drawn and cut out of the paper and interacting with surroundings. The photos can be edited, but you should not overdo it. You photos have to be good quality, so please do not send “phone/webcam photos” or photos taken from Facebook. Features that will be evaluated: drawing, originality of the photo, composition.

There is no definite format for the drawings, we accept everything created with pencils, paints, markers, crayons and also digital works (the participant will have to print it out before giving it to us). You should bring your work (painted or printed out) to us on until 21.07.2019 to UniCon Cafe, Aleksandra Čaka iela 58, Rīga (no mailbox).
